I hired a former associate to drive with me on one of my business trips 25 or so years ago in Nigeria, to deliver veterinary pharmaceuticals (can't simply say drugs now,for it means something else these days!) to a prominent poultry breeding company. Unfortunately, there were police checkpoints every few miles all the way to our destination. As we hit the freeway out of our city, I prayed and asked God to grant us free passage throughout this 8 hour journey to and also all the way back the next day and for Him to protect us. As we went along, we got stopped at every single checkpoint with these officers asking for a bribe as they do in many corrupt nations. I continously introduced myself at every checkpoint as a servant of God who will never give a bribe and I offered to pray for the officers instead. Every checkpoint, every time, the officers took off their hats, bowed their heads and asked me to bless them. I was chuffed, really, because I knew God was showing my driver it is possible to live holy and uncorrupted in the midst of the greatest perversity. The next day in the morning as we left the hotel for our return journey, I prayed the same prayer and in addition, I asked God to protect us as the weather was very downcast and called for torrential rain. If you have ever witnessed an African torrential rainfall at the height of its rainy season, you don't want to be on any road driving in it but we had to get home that day.
We were passing through the now empty checkpoints without the police who had been driven away by the ridiculously heavy rain. Even for that part of the world, this rain was not just heavy, it was outright scary.
At one point, my driver could no longer see anything and then suddenly we were face to face with a juggernaut semi tractor trailer bearing down on us. We escaped by inches and he pulled up on the verge. Another semi coming from behind going our direction missed us by only inches since he too did not see us. When we rolled the window down, we saw we were a few feet from rolling into a deep gorge on a roadside with no protection on the sides and treetops down the slope were barely visible.
Well, my guy jumped out of the car, ran round to my side and asked me to move over and drive because he was done. I moved over and then asked him to calm down so I can ask God for clear weather. Well, he had been dying to ask me about the free passage yesterday, which I was waiting for him to ask. Now, he simply bowed his head as I prayed a one sentence 10 second prayer, "Father, you made the firmaments, the heavens and the earth! Please stop this rain and give us fair weather in Jesus' Name!. Amen."
Before my guy coud say Amen, just like a faucet turned off, in an instant the rain stopped, the skies cleared and the sun came forth, bright, shiny. Even the air smelled washed and clean!, just like that.
Folks, my friend who I call Mr. D, he burst into tears, he asked me, how do I receive this Jesus who did all this. I held his hand on that roadside in my old imported Honda Accord and led my friend to Christ!
When jesus walked on water, even his disciples were afraid but He is Lord over all things. What manner of man is Jesus, Hallelujah.
Psalm 19:1-6 says all heavens declare the glory of our God. He is worthy and if you don't know or have not entrusted your life to Him, you don't know what you are missing. This is our God. Our God is not the religious God who is just for show, He is the omnipotent potentate. Check out how even nature sings of the glory of God in this awesome video by Louie Giglio.
Stay thoroughly blessed. http://youtu.be/IB835wkz1Tc

True witnesses only
Recently, a prominent Pastor friend in our city called me and urgently requested to meet with me as soon as possible.
When we met in my office soon afterwards, he shared something he read in one of the accounts written by Rev. Paul Yonggi Cho, who shared that the secret to lasting the journey and ending well, is accountability to each other before God. He then requested that we become each other's accountability partner following which he shared a list of 20 questions with me. One of the
questions required an answer to whether you have been absolutely truthful in everything.
This includes recounting or retelling testimonies either privately or publicly, and in every situation and activity of our lives.
Well, in writing So Far So God..., I am accountable to God to tell every testimony and story exactly the way it happened.
Nothing more and nothing else, either to sanitise, pretty up, hype up or dumb down. So there you have it.
I don't know why, but when i began to write this, I became amazed at how regularly God has done amazing, unexplainable, supernatural things all through my life. often I wondered, is it when and where I was born and the circumstances or what.
Then I looked more closely right from the start and realised that God had a plan for me even before I was born, and in every situation He has reminded me that He and His plan have been sovereign concerning me. God has a plan for you, and if you stop and look, you will easily see His hand no matter where or what your circumstances have been. Jer. 29:11-13 says 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

A friend asked me a question today, "So Far So God sounds beautiful...tell me more..."
Here's my reply:
........ how have you been my beautiful sister. I am currently writing a book of the same title and discovered in the process, God has done sooo many tremendous miracles in and through our lives that if people only knew a fraction of the reality of His faithfulness, it should not be too hard to believe Him! hence the decision to invite others to share the wonders of His grace. That is the long and short of the blog and the facebook page. God bless.

In the summer of 2006, my daughter was playing outside running around in the yard. Suddenly, we heard her horrified scream as she burst through the door. When my wife and I ran out from the kitchen and met her at the house foyer, we were shocked to see her entire face swollen up like a balloon. You couldn't make out her facial features for this horrible looking swelling. She wasn't in pain but her own face terrified her from this allergic reaction. My wife reached for the phone to call 911. Something in me rose up and I snatched the phone from her and said, "let's lay hands on her and command this thing to go!". We laid hands on her and commanded the swelling to go down in Jesus' name! then we made a dash for the car and headed to the hospital, which is less than 5 minutes from the house. we had always preached, pray first and everything else second.
When we arrived at the hospital, I went ahead to speak to the receptionist who was looking at me strangely. I turned around and saw the reason. My daughter's face had come back to normal in less than 5 minutes! Truly, it is by His stripes that we are healed. he still heals today, just as He has done and will continue to do in all the ages until He returns. Hallelujah.

A New Life... So Far So God!
A New Life....So Far So God!
By Sam Gbenro
Welcome to my blog page.
A believer must see Christ in everything. Acts 17:27-28(a)... God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ God built the garden, placed Adam in it and expected Adam to flourish in Eden and eventually his children to multiply Edens all over the earth. Of course, sin came and unsaved man surely multiplies chaos now, all over the earth. The difference between chaos and order is the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ who saves man and restores us back to God then the Holy Spirit can restore order in place of chaos. However, we deceive ourselves when we tell new believers, receive Christ and all your problems will be over. On the contrary, living a new life in Christ must mean we fix our gaze on Him who is the author and the finisher of our faith. The sailor fixes his instruments or sights on a specific point (the coastline, the northern star, the lighthouse etc) and any storms between him and his destination is something he rides over, to get to his destination. If you live for today, circumstances become definitive, exaggerated, even existential!. Live for eternity, everything else is temporary. You have to see God's hand in all things to have peace in all things. Look for Him, acknowledge Him. This blog celebrates and teaches, through God's presence in man's (our) life. Please share your God-incidences with us here and let iron sharpen iron.
Shalom!
